Caption reads: MUNSTER GERMANY: Germany's newest tank, a low slung 24 ton fast reconnaissance tank that German panzer experts describe as the best of its type in the world, sits beside an American M-48 tank at the testing grounds in Munster. Armed with a 90mm gun, the tank is said to be capable of speeds up to 50mph and is heavily armored. The tank, unnamed so far, can wade across streams with the aid of a snorkel breathing device and is air-conditioned. Although developed by German technicians, the tank will not be used in the German armed forces but will be for export sales.
